When first administering Clarocet Junior, it is recommended
that you consider the following guidelines in order to develop a usage schedule
that's right for your child:
- Limit your child's intake of Clarocet Junior to just one (1) tablet taken
once daily during the first seven (7) days of use. Clarocet Junior may be
swallowed whole or crushed into a large, 8 to 10oz glass of juice or water.
If you prefer, you may also crush each tablet of Clarocet Jr. and add it
to a food item such as apple sauce or peanut butter. Chewing Clarocet
Junior is not recommended.
- Gradually increasing your child's daily intake will allow you to determine
his or her individual response to Clarocet Junior slowly. If, after the first
week, you feel it is necessary for your child to take more than a single
tablet of Clarocet Junior per day, it is suggested that you increase his
or her daily consumption to two (2) tablets. Your child's intake should not
exceed four (4) tablets of Clarocet Junior within a 24-hour period.
- Establishing a usage schedule that helps make it easy to remember when
to administer Clarocet Junior is always better than your child not taking
it on a consistent basis. Therefore, if you prefer a specific time of day
that is convenient for you (e.g., administering Clarocet Junior with breakfast
or at lunch time) then it is recommended that you practice this usage schedule.
Side effects are rare when Clarocet Junior is used as directed.
Current statistics indicate that less then one percent (1%) of users may experience
adverse reactions documented as mild to moderate in clinical
study. They may
include dry mouth, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and sleep difficulties.
Preexisting gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances, such as acid reflux or ulcers
may be exacerbated when taking Clarocet on an empty stomach. Allergic reactions
are not common. However, individuals with a known history of allergic reactions
should consult with an allergist who can perform skin tests to determine specific
allergens.
Clarocet Junior is generally well-tolerated when it is taken
in combination with most prescription drugs. Because each individual is unique,
it is recommended that you consult with your child's prescribing doctor if
you plan on making any changes or additions to his or her current treatment
plan.

In certain instances, a parent must consult with their child's primary
care physician before administering Clarocet Junior, Clarocet PM is developed
for healthy adults and teens. In certain instances, a person must consult with
their primary care physician before beginning Clarocet PM, including:
- Children who experience blood pressure abnormalities, or those with preexisting
heart conditions
- Those taking prescription Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) or other
psychiatric drugs
- Children who have been diagnosed with a serious health issue, such as severe
anxiety or depression
- Children with a history of allergies
- Children with an autoimmune disease who are currently taking prescription
drugs to treat their condition
